High Efficiency Vertical Roller Mill for Limestone – Energy Saving VRM for Asia Pacific Market

1.Product Brief
Our vertical roller mill for limestone grinding is a highly efficient and energy-saving solution that integrates grinding, drying, and classifying into a single unit. Designed specifically for the Asia-Pacific market, it delivers high-purity fine powders for the cement, mining, and calcium carbonate production industries while consuming 40–50% less power than traditional ball mills.
2. Key Advantages
Energy Saving – Cut Power Costs by Up to 50%
Compared to traditional ball mills, our VRM reduces power consumption by 40-50% through direct roller-to-material grinding and optimized airflow design.
High Capacity & Consistent Output
With capacity ranging from 3 to 320+ tph, our vertical mill handles large-scale industrial production with stable, uniform product quality.
Ultra-Fine & Customizable Fineness
Achieve product fineness from 80 mesh up to 2500 mesh (D97 as fine as 9μm), with narrow particle size distribution and minimal over-grinding.
Low Maintenance & Long Service Life
Wear-resistant parts use high-quality alloy steel with hard-facing technology, significantly extending replacement cycles.
Environmentally Friendly Operation
Negative-pressure operation with an omniseal system keeps dust concentration ≤5mg/m³ and noise levels below 80dB(A)—fully compliant with modern environmental standards.
Compact Footprint – Save 50% Space
The vertical structure integrates multiple functions into one unit, occupying approximately 50% of the floor space required by a ball mill system.

4. Working Principle:
The motor drives the grinding table to rotate through the reducer. Raw materials fall to the center of the grinding table from the feed inlet, while hot air enters the mill through the air inlet.
Under centrifugal force, materials move toward the edge of the grinding table and are crushed by grinding rollers in the annular trough. The crushed materials are then lifted by high-speed airflow at the air ring.
Large and coarse particles fall back to the grinding table for re-grinding. Fine powder passes through the dynamic-static separator with the airflow and is finally collected by the powder collector as finished products.
Meanwhile, hot air fully dries the moist materials during processing, ensuring the finished powder meets the standard moisture requirement.

7. FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between a vertical roller mill and a ball mill for limestone grinding?
A: VRM offers 40-50% lower energy consumption, occupies 50% less floor space, dries materials with up to 15% moisture, and produces more uniform particle size distribution with less over-grinding. Material retention time is only 2-3 minutes vs. 15-20 minutes in a ball mill, enabling faster quality control.
Q2: What fineness can a limestone vertical mill achieve?
A: Product fineness ranges from 80 mesh to 2500 mesh (or D97=9-30μm), depending on the model and classifier configuration. For desulfurization applications, 22-180μm is typical; for GCC ultrafine powder, D97 can reach 9μm.
Q3: Can the mill handle wet limestone?
A: Yes. The vertical mill integrates drying capability and can process feed materials with moisture up to 15% by using hot air from a hot gas generator or waste heat.
Q4: What is the typical maintenance schedule?
A: Key wear parts (rollers and grinding table liners) are manufactured from high-chrome alloy steel with hard-facing technology. Replacement cycles depend on material hardness and operating hours; our design allows easy roller swing-out for inspection and maintenance without full disassembly.
