What Is Gypsum Powder Grinding System?

A gypsum powder production line processes natural dihydrate gypsum ore or industrial‑by‑product gypsum (such as desulfurized gypsum and phosphogypsum) via grinding and calcination under controlled temperature. During this procedure, dihydrate gypsum undergoes dehydration and decomposition to yield β‑hemihydrate gypsum (CaSO₄·1/2H₂O) as its main component, which is widely known as building gypsum.

A full‑fledged production system generally consists of the following sections:

• Crushing Stage: Raw gypsum ore is first crushed into small‑sized particles by a crusher for subsequent grinding.
• Grinding Stage: The crushed gypsum material is fed into a grinding mill for fine pulverization. Frequently‑adopted grinding equipment includes ball mills, Raymond mills, vertical roller mills and ultra‑fine grinding mills.
• Classification Stage: The classifier regulates particle‑size distribution by separating fine powder from coarse granules, so as to guarantee stable and consistent product quality.
• Dust Collection Stage: A dust collector traps fugitive dust produced in the grinding process, creating a clean, safe working environment.
• Packaging Stage: After the gypsum powder reaches the required fineness, finished products will be packaged for storage and shipment.

Vertical Grinding System Process

Raw materials are elevated into a silo, then fed into a vertical roller mill for grinding and drying. Qualified fine powder is separated via a classifier and cyclone, while coarse powder returns for regrinding. Exhaust gas is purified by a bag filter before emission. Finished powder is stored in a silo, ready for packaging or dispatch.
